Lúcia Vieira Leite

As Co-founder and Chair of Heart Porto-Association of People with Cardiomyopathies, and as a person living with cardiomyopathy, she is committed to strengthening patient representation, promoting health literacy, raising awareness of cardiovascular diseases, and fostering collaboration between patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, and public institutions.

A legal expert in human rights, public policy, and international cooperation, she has held senior legal positions within the Portuguese public administration, the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and the United Nations system. Her expertise in advocacy, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and partnership building supports Heart Porto’s contribution to ERN GUARD-Heart.

Her work focuses on amplifying the patient voice, promoting equitable access to care, and supporting collaborative initiatives that improve the quality of life of people living with cardiomyopathies.
