On June 26, 2023, Mended Hearts Europe (MHE) was officially launched and now operates under the legal entity known as Mended Hearts Switzerland. Located in Geneva, Switzerland, MHE marks a significant expansion of The Mended Hearts, Inc. (MHI) – the world’s largest cardiovascular disease peer support network – into new territories, encompassing Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Our mission is grounded in three key principles:
- Support: We create an inclusive and compassionate community, ensuring that heart patients and their families never feel alone.
- Education: We provide relevant resources and knowledge, empowering heart patients and their families to make informed decisions about their healthcare.
- Advocacy: We engage heart patients and their families in advocacy efforts, enabling them to make decisions that enhance their quality of life.
Our vision is a world where every heart patient has the resources and support needed to live a healthy life.
Activities of the Organization
We focus on adapting U.S. educational materials to fit legal, cultural, and linguistic contexts, as well as creating new resources tailored to the needs of patients. We promote these resources and collaborate with local organizations to enhance their reach and impact. Our activities include developing national peer-to-peer support networks, identifying and training patient advocates, and fostering a community where heart patients and their families can find the support and information they need to manage their heart health effectively.
