Danish Heart Foundation (Hjerteforeningen)

The Danish Heart Foundation is one of the largest disease-fighting organizations in Denmark with 132,345 members. We work with prevention of cardiovascular diseases, patient support and research.

The Danish Heart Foundation is a non-profit organization and it was founded back in 1962.  Our vision is “Together we win a healthier and better life for all”.  We fund and conduct scientific research into cardiovascular disease to improve prevention and treatment. We prevent cardiovascular disease through health-promoting activities and information. We represent the interests of heart patients and their families by providing counselling and information and through health policy initiatives.

The Danish Heart Foundation’s representative in the ERN Guard Heart is Lisbeth Vestergaard Andersen, who works with patient involvement in research.
